Yvonne Williams

WIDA Professional Development Specialist

Yvonne Williams comes to us from Nevada. She has worked in education for 20 years, with 9 years of these teaching a variety of language learners from grades Kinder to High School. For the additional 11 years, she has worked as a district ELL trainer, ELL instructional coach and a school site parent involvement coordinator. She is passionate about language learners. She was once an ESL, at risk student herself, and is very passionate about the role education plays and the paths our students take.

She earned her Bachelors from Angelo State University in Texas and her Masters in Bilingual Education from NOVA southeastern University, Florida.  Her endorsements include, TESL, Bilingual and Computer literacy.

Her focus at WIDA is to bring the WIDA English Language Development Standards to all classrooms, giving educators the tools and enthusiasm needed in spreading the WIDA mission.
