Dan Udovic is an associate professor in Biology and the director of Environmental Studies at the University of Oregon. He also directs several large educational projects including:

Workshop Biology a comprehensive curriculum project designed to improve biology teaching for non-biology majors.
- Project in Undergraduate Science Education a Howard Hughes Medical
Institute funded project providing a wide variety of activities designed to emphasize personal interaction between faculty and students, a supportive learning environment that encourages academic success, and a sense of community.
- The Biology Software Lab which develops educational software tools, primarily for Macintosh computers, that encourage deep conceptual learning and open-ended scientific inquiry.
