National Partnership in Advanced Computational Infrastructure Supercomputer Project

Team Leader: Greg Moses

Project goal: The NISE and the UW-Madison LEAD (Learning through Evaluation, Adaptation,  and Dissemination) Center are working with the executive groups of the San Diego National Partnership in Advanced Computational Infrastructure (NPACI) and the Illinois National Center for Supercomputing Applications to develop a common framework to coordinate and evaluate education, outreach, and training activities across the supercomputer programs.

Products: In one line of work, the NISE and the LEAD Center provide assistance to NPACI with the evaluation of selected Education, Outreach, and Training (EOT) projects to determine key elements of success and failure. Past projects have included Spend a Summer with a Scientist and Awareness Workshop at Rice University and the undergraduate Education Center for Computational Science and Engineering at SDSU.

In the other line of work, advanced facets of "video on demand" are being explored using Internet-based technologies.

This project is a subcontract with the University of California-San Diego, funded by the Office of Advanced Scientific Computing in the Computer Information Science and Engineering Directorate of the National Science Foundation.
