Bridging the Gap between Preservice and K-12 Teaching Issues and Strategies
The meeting was held at the National Academy of Science, Harris Building, Room 450, 2001 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC beginning at 12:00 noon on November 14 and ending at 5:00 p.m. on November 15, 1997. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and document what is known about bridging the "practice-theory gap" in science and mathematics teacher education.
Invited guests are leaders in the area of teacher preparation and professional development in science and mathematics education who have made significant strides in closing the gap between teacher preparation programs and the realities of schools and classrooms.
