Funding Continues for Graduate Training Program

June 22, 2009

With renewed funding from the Institute for Education Sciences (IES) WCER will continue to prepare graduate students for careers in sociology, economics, psychology, political science, and social welfare. To date, WCER’s Interdisciplinary Training Program for Predoctoral Research in the Education Sciences has attracted 32 high-caliber students who have worked on a rich array of education research projects, produced 32 publications (including several articles in leading journals), and made 91 conference presentations (including the major disciplinary and education conferences), and launched its first five graduates into research careers. Three new faculty-led experimental studies of education policy interventions have involved scores of schools and thousands of students, and have helped us provide training in every phase of large-scale randomized trials. The program will train another 30 fellows over 5 years. More information is available here.
