Schools Can Adapt to Digital MediaOctober 12, 2009 We're in the middle of a knowledge revolution, fueled by technology that offers personalized learning. Schools are increasingly held responsible for teaching certain kinds of knowledge and skills, and for adopting the technologies that help students achieve common learning goals. But schools can find it difficult to integrate many of the personalized technologies into classrooms. Richard Halverson addresses this issue in his new book, “Rethinking Education in the Age of Technology,” co-written with Allan Collins of Northwestern University. Halverson co-founded the UW-Madison Games, Learning and Society group, researchers and interactive media developers who study how digital media change the ways we think, learn, and interact.
