Summer Academies for ELL EducatorsApril 13, 2010 WIDA will host 3 summer academies for teachers and trainers of teachers of ELLs. Academy 1, Assessing for Success, June 21‐24, focuses on assessment literacy for educators of students whose native language is not English. Academy 2, Differentiate to Educate: Building Academic Language for ELLs, July 19–22, offers an introduction to the WIDA English Language Proficiency (ELP) Standards. Participants will learn how to use the ELP Standards to help ELLs succeed in the classroom. Academy 3, Designing a Standards‐Based Curriculum for ELLs, August 2–5, focuses on connecting the WIDA ELP Standards to grade‐appropriate, content standards‐based curriculum. More information here.
