Professional DevelopmentJuly 25, 2005 The key to higher student performance is professional development; teachers, principals and aides are learning different strategies for assisting students who often are not "scoring" well because of factors related to poverty, language, or culture. Professional development is a broad topic. During the past 10 years, the Comprehensive Center VI at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has gathered articles by research scholars in various parts of the country. Among the subjects are Using Data for Educational Decision-Making, Charter Schools, Accountability, Cognitively Guided Instruction, School Safety, Reading, Systemic Reform, and now, Professional Development. Read more about this topic in the PDF of the Professional Development Newletter.
