Collaborators Design Realistic Math Materials

Researchers, K-12 mathematics teachers, and curriculum developers are working side by side to create classroom mathematics assessments; design comparative achievement studies; develop curricula at several levels of detail; build leadership capacity in school districts through professional communities; and supervise graduate students. The Freudenthal Institute-USA involves a collaboration among WCER, the Freudenthal Institut-University of Utrecht, and the University of Colorado-Boulder.

Recently published articles are posted here. Topics include an international perspective on evolving assessment practices; the significance of task design in mathematics education; spherical geometry in primary education; guided reinvention in a multimedia learning environment; and realistic mathematics education for children with special needs.
