Finding and Using ELL Standards

September 18, 2006

Educators of English language learners (ELLs) have a powerful resource for planning curriculum and assessment. The World-class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) Consortium at WCER helps educators gauge where ELLs are and how to appropriately challenge them to reach the next levels. The ELP Standards Wizard helps educators locate English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards of interest, by grade level, domain type (listening, reading, speaking, and writing), and standard type (social and instructional, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies). Educators may modify the content goals as needed to fit state and local standards as practiced at their schools.
