Mentoring Seminar Featured in Science Magazine

February 27 , 2006

In the recent article "The Merits of Training Mentors" (Science Magazine, 27 January) Christine Pfund and colleagues highlight the success of their graduate student mentor training program, the Wisconsin Mentoring Seminar. Pfund codirects the Wisconsin Program for Scientific Teaching and is associate director of WCER's Delta Program in Research, Teaching and Learning.

The co-authored article focuses on training graduate students and post-doctoral researchers as mentors for undergraduate students. It  indicates interesting effects on the mentors, the mentors' faculty advisors, and the undergraduates with whom the mentors worked. The full article is available here.
