Millar Receives Distinguished Service Award

April 3, 2006

Terry Millar, a principal investigator of WCER's SCALE project, has received a Madison Metropolitan School District Distinguished Service Award. Millar has contributed to the school district's Math Masters Program by teaching professional development classes on algebraic relationships and number operations for middle school math teachers. The Math Masters project aims to increase middle school students’ achievement by strengthening the quality of mathematics instruction through content-based professional development. Millar's past contributions to the district include his role in the 1999 submission of a successful National Science Foundation (NSF) GK-12 proposal, the K-Through-Infinity (KTI) Professional Development Partnership.
