New Grant to Fund Longitudinal Data Analysis

November 28, 2005

WCER will help three states design and implement statewide systems for analyzing longitudinal education data, thanks to a new competitive grant awarded last week. WCER is part of a three-state consortium consisting of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan to win a total of $9.4 million (approximately $3 million to each state) over the next three years. Principal investigator Robert Meyer, who directs WCER's Value-Added Research Center, was the guiding force behind the successful bid. Chris Thorn, director of WCER technical services, lends his technology expertise. More than 40 states competed for these awards; 14 were successful, including the 3 in our consortium.
