New Working Paper PostedOctober 23, 2007 Teaching-related professional development projects aimed at aspiring college/university educators have emerged in the U.S. in the last decade. This is partly in response to calls for colleges and universities to play a more prominent role in improving science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education and increasing the number of graduates in these fields. A new WCER Working Paper reports on the value of investment in preservice professional development programs in light of the experiences of aspiring educators who are still in training and who are transitioning into their first professional positions. "Doctoral and Postdoctoral STEM Teaching-Related Professional Development: Effects on Training and Early Career Periods," is posted here.
