Pathways to College for Latino Youth
Pathways to College for Latino Youth

The challenges facing Latino students on their pathway to college are enormous at best, impossible at worst. At almost every level, Latino youth face an upward struggle against forces that suppress educational opportunity and lead these youth to a future that requires more effort to keep on current standing with other students.

UW-Madison education professor Alberto Cabrera coauthored a recent report "Latino Youth and the Pathway to College" http://www.educationalpolicy.org/pdf/Latino_Youth.pdf, now available online through the Educational Policy Institute.

This report outlines the pathway to and through postsecondary education for Latinos and other students, and looks at a number of variables which offer insight into how motivated and prepared these students are for postsecondary work.
