April 9, 2007

Two hundred faculty and staff from UW-Madison are in Chicago this week at the annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association. Reflecting the span of WCER research from early childhood education to the post-graduate level, those presenting will cover topics including class size reduction; the consequences of NCLB accountability on academic achievement; curriculum and assessment in early childhood education; English language proficiency assessment and accountability; evidence and decision-making in education systems; mathematical learning, cognition, and motivation; media investment in the 'readiness' market; teacher education; teacher evaluation; and teaching-related professional development on doctoral students in the sciences.
