Students' Competencies in Justifying and Proving
Students' Competencies in Justifying and Proving

Eric Knuth's research has three objectives: 1) to understand the development of students' competencies in justifying and proving; 2) to understand the conditions and pedagogy necessary to promote the development of those competencies; and 3) to develop appropriate teacher preparation and professional development materials. These materials will be designed both to enhance teachers' understandings of proof and to help them foster the development of students' competencies in justifying and proving. The project is funded through the National Science Foundation's Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program.
