Megan Shoji
  Research Assistant


Megan Shoji received her bachlelor's degree in sociology and Spanish from Pepperdine University in 2005. Prior to coming to Madison, she spent two years teaching English language at a junior high school in Sendai, Japan as part of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) program.

Megan has been a doctoral student in sociology since 2007 and received a master's degree in the Educational Psychology department's quantitative methods program in 2012. Her research interests include educational inequality, race relations, social stratification, mixed methodology, and quantitative methods. Megan currently works with Adam Gamoran, Ruth Turley, and Carmen Valdez on a study of the causal impacts of social capital on children's development.
