Hugh Johnston

Hugh Johnston, M.D. is assistant professor of psychiatry and director of the Child Psychopharmacology Clinic at UW-Madison.

His interests include biological treatment of children and adolescents, assessment of children and adolescents, and animal models of psychopathology.

The UW-Madison Child Psychopharmacology Information Service (CPIS) was established in 1991 with a portion of a three year grant awarded to Johnston from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Since December of 1993 the CPIS has financially supported itself through reimbursement from clients for services, as well as tax-deductible donations from CPIS clients.

The primary purpose of the CPIS is to provide access to information discussing the use of psychotropics (drugs that treat psychiatric symptoms/disorders) in child & adolescent psychiatry, ages 17 and younger.
