  ASSETS Project Manager

Meredith Alt is the ASSETS Project Manager for WIDA. She works closely with WIDA partners the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL), WestEd, Data Recognition Corporation, UCLA, and MetriTech on creating an innovative, technology-based assessment system for English learners. She is responsible for formulating, implementing, and managing strategic policies, guidelines and procedures regarding operations of this Enhanced Assessment Grant (EAG) project. She manages communications with partners and collaborates with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to ensure a strong state voice in developing the new assessment system. She also coordinated and managed WIDA's alignment and correspondence studies. Prior to joining WIDA, Meredith lived in Mexico for three years, where she worked as a classroom teacher and at a language school. She has taught ESL in a range of contexts in the United States, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
