DELTA Program in Research, Teaching, and Learning

The Delta Program is the local implementation of the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL), which strives to promote the development of future faculty by working with graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and current faculty and staff as they strive to become not only effective researchers but also excellent teachers.

In its eight years on campus, the Delta Program has greatly enhanced the university’s approach and commitment to ongoing professional development around teaching and learning. The program offers graduate-level courses, discussion groups, workshops, and roundtables, as well as the Delta Internship Program and the Delta Certificate Program. Through these various opportunities, Delta Program participants benefit by becoming more effective educators, gaining a competitive edge in the academic or industry job market, and engaging with others who care deeply about teaching and learning. More than 400 members of the UW–Madison community participate in Delta programming each year.
