Randomized Trial of Families and Schools Together (FAST)

Researchers are conducting trials of the FAST program in 10 schools in inner-city Milwaukee, representing 600 students and their families. Some students are assigned a "service as usual" control condition, while others are assigned to the FAST program. The classrooms represent high risk neighborhoods, with approximately one-third each predominantly African American, Latino, and white populations. Families in the FAST condition attend the eight-week program one evening per week.
