An Evidence-Based Approach to School Finance Adequacy in Wisconsin

This work aims to produce advances in school finance adequacy and teacher compensation in Wisconsin. Working with education and political leaders in the state, this project (a) analyzes school finance adequacy using an evidence-based approach; (2) analyzes the market for adequate teacher salary levels; (3) analyzes the costs of non-instructional education functions; and (4) shares findings with local education and political communities across the state.

The evidence-based approach to school finance adequacy informs decisions about resource allocation with evidence on program effectiveness so that school finance policy proposals can be guided by firm evidence and thus be as cost-effective as possible.
