SCASS Science Assessment Materials Compact Disc

The State Collaborative on Assessment and Student Standards (SCASS) Science Education Assessment Project of the Council of Chief State School Officers has designed and developed, and is now producing a compact disc (CD) containing science assessment materials. Its goal is to increase the use of high-quality, multimethod assessments in science education.

The CD is designed to help a variety of audiences understand and use assessment-related materials for science education. The materials are presented in convenient formats for use by state and local education staff, administrators, teachers, curriculum specialists, and assessment designers.

Teachers might use the CD to help them better understand assessment terms and techniques, or to find appropriate assessment items for their classes. Administrators may find the CD helpful in examining state-of-the-art assessment measures. Students or parents may use it to better understand how teachers score and interpret student achievement.
