Evidence Reviews for What Works Clearinghouse

The U.S. Department of Education's What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) provides information to educators about the effectiveness of education programs. It develops standards for assessing the effectiveness and reviews research related to interventions to determine the extent of evidence of effectiveness. As a subcontractor to Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. (MPR), WCER staff identify research and conduct reviews of research on topics determined by MPR in consultation with the Institute of Education Sciences. Topics may include, for example, the effectiveness of programs for learning-disabled children, professional development of teachers, high school reforms, and reading, math, and science curricula. Staff also may conduct other research activities such as analyzing elements of program implementation and resource use.
