Evaluation of the Chicago Community Trust Education Program

This proposal builds on the work conducted by WCER evaluators for the external evaluation of the 2001–2006 Education Initiative. That project assessed the scope, reach, and impact of the initiative. In addition, formative recommendations were provided to the CCT Education Program officers, Education Subcommittee, and Executive Committee on ways to improve consistency in evaluation reporting and allow for synthesis of impact across the grant portfolio. This work led to the development of new evaluation planning and reporting templates that have been adapted by the program officers. In addition, the evaluation team and program officers developed initial logic models to help focus grant making and contribute to an evaluation strategy for the new Education initiative. With the support of an additional grant, WCER is continuing work with the Education Program on the design of logic models, progress indicators, and an evaluation plan for the 2008–2013 grants.
