Enhancing Teacher Competence in Accommodating Challenging Behaviors: Comparing a Professional Development Model to Traditional In-Service Training

This project is testing the effectiveness of a professional development program designed to provide teachers with evidence-based strategies and collaborative skills to address the needs of children with challenging behaviors including noncompliance, aggression, disruptiveness, and attention deficits that severely limit a child's ability to succeed academically. The goal is to examine the effects of the training program on teachers' knowledge, skills, and beliefs, as well as on student outcomes.
