Hillsborough County Value-Added Project

VARC is developing a system of value-added models for Hillsborough County (Fla.) Public Schools. The District will use the value-added results from this system as part of its Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Teacher Effectiveness Initiative to support and promote effective teaching.

VARC will produce teacher-level value-added estimates using data from district-wide assessments which include state-mandated tests such as the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test and district-required end of course tests. The goal is to generate value-added estimates for all teachers for whom we have at least three years of student test score data.
