Having problems?
If you are having problems with the site, it could be the result of a few things:
- Your internet browser (e.g., Netscape, Mozilla) is set to not allow cookies. You will
know this is a problem if the website doesn't do anything when you hit the "submit" button
after entering in your course ID and password. To fix this, just reset your
browser to allow cookies. (In Internet Explorer, go to Tools...Internet Options...Privacy
and select at least a Medium level of security. In Mozilla, go to Tools...Options...Privacy and check "Allow site to set cookies").
- Your browser is blocking the site as a security concern. This is a similar problem to
#1, and you need to fix it in your internet browser. To fix this, just reset your
browser to allow cookies. (In Internet Explorer, go to Tools...Internet Options...Security
and see whether the site is listed as a restrictsite. If so, remove it from the list. This problem
doesn't appear to happen in Mozilla).
- A program (such as Hotmail or Blackboard) is "hosting" the site. You can identify this problem by looking to see
if the SALG site appears inside the “shell” of the email program. Having SALG inside the "shell" of another
program interferes with its ability to send information. To fix this, just open up a new browser window
and copy and paste the URL into this new window.
