Development Pilot of DPI's Educator Effectiveness System
The state of Wisconsin is developing and pilot testing new standards-based evaluation systems for teachers and principals. To maximize the impact of these systems and improve the effectiveness of educators across the career spectrum, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has partnered with school districts, high-need schools, and WCER to develop human capital management systems that both are aligned to the competencies anchoring the new Wisconsin educator evaluation systems and include performance-based compensation approaches.
This project is designed to improve the effectiveness of teachers and school leaders in high-need schools within participating Local Education Agencies. The results will create models for other districts in the State on the potential for strategic human capital management systems with performance-based compensation to increase educational outcomes.
