Applying Insights from Faculty Teaching Practices

Policymakers and educators engaged in pedagogical reform in math and science seek to better understand teaching practices in colleges and universities. A major challenge involves determining how instructors experience the organizational environment in which their teaching occurs. An adequate accounting of these complex phenomena involves capturing many different aspects of teaching practice. WCER researcher Matthew Hora presents an approach that captures the nuances of teaching practice with the specific aim of providing actionable evidence for policymakers and practitioners.
