Professional Development for Teachers Using SEC SurveysApril 18, 2011 The Surveys of Enacted Curriculum (SEC) are a set of data collection tools used with K-12 teachers of mathematics, science and English language arts to portray current instructional practices and content being taught in classrooms. Teachers complete survey questions though a web-based system. Group data are then reported in charts and graphs to show differences across classrooms, schools, or districts. Staff from the Council of Chief State School Officers are working with WCER’s SEC staff to develop a school-based professional development model and to gauge its effectiveness. More information is available here.
