Aligning Resources with Student Achievement

February 4, 2008

As much as possible, school districts seek to allocate their resources so that they link to improved student achievement. WCER’s Value-Added Research Center is working with Milwaukee Public Schools to create an information system to assess student, teacher, classroom, and school effects on value-added student learning gains. The system, called IRIS, will allow Milwaukee to determine “what works” in terms of the resources expended at student, classroom, and school levels. More information is available here.
