CAP: Student Travel Support for the 7th International Conference on Educational Data Mining (EDM 2014)

This project provided funding to support advanced doctoral students from the United States to participate in the Young Researchers Track of the 7th International Conference on Educational Data Mining (EDM) held in London, UK from July 4-July 7, 2014.

Eight doctoral students attended the Young Researchers Track of the 4-day conference and associated tutorials and workshops.

EDM 2014 is the 7th conference in a series of annual international conferences concerned with developing methods for exploring the unique types of data that come from educational settings (e.g., from students' use of interactive learning environments, computer-supported collaborative learning, or administrative data from schools and universities), and using those methods to better understand students, and the settings which they learn in.

The rapidly growing EDM conference seeks to balance theoretical grounding, analysis of fine-grained educational data, application of these findings to the design of learning environments, and rigorous evaluation of these learning environments.
