Lauren Young

WIDA eLearning Instructional Designer

Lauren is an eLearning instructional designer for the Digital Learning Innovation Team (DLITe) at WIDA. In her role, she designs and develops online digital learning experiences for pre-K-12 educators serving multilingual learners. Prior to joining WIDA, Lauren worked as an instructional designer in the transportation and supply chain industries. Lauren received her Master of Education with an emphasis in Adult Learning and Bachelor of Arts in English from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is currently pursuing an Information Accessibility Design and Policy certification at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Lauren also has a passion for the English learning field—she received her TESOL certification during her undergraduate studies and is working to publish a research paper about the role of immigrant women in adult English language classes. Lauren currently lives in Chicago, and in her free time she enjoys practicing yoga, traveling, and walking along Lake Michigan with her dog.
